Ingredients

For the pork tenderloin
  • 1 lb Pork tenderloin Make sure it's tenderloin, not loin.
  • 1 tsp Salt To season the pork.
  • 1 tsp Black pepper Freshly ground for best flavor.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika Optional for a smoky flavor.
  • 1 tsp Brown sugar Optional for sweetness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the pork tenderloin dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub the pork with salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar.
  3. Let the seasoned pork rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes if time permits.
Grilling
  1. Preheat the grill to about 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the pork tenderloin on the grill and close the lid.
  3. Grill for about 6-8 minutes on each side, flipping halfway through.
  4. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  5. Remove from the grill and let the pork rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Allowing the meat to rest helps retain juices. For variations, consider adding BBQ sauce towards the end of grilling or experimenting with different herbs for the rub.
