Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Can use lean or regular.
  • 1/2 head green cabbage, sliced thinly Red cabbage can also be used.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped Any type of onion works.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Or smashed.
  • 1 can diced tomatoes Fresh tomatoes can also be used.
  • 1 cup broth (chicken or beef) To prevent dryness.
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika For added depth of flavor.

Method
 

Cooking Beef
  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat and add ground beef.
  2. Cook until browned and crumbly, allowing flavorful bits to form on the bottom.
Adding Vegetables
  1. Add chopped onion and cook for 2 minutes until it becomes aromatic.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Stir in the sliced cabbage and cook until it wilts down.
Finishing Dish
  1. Add diced tomatoes, season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. If the mixture seems dry, pour in a splash of broth.
  3. Let it simmer for 10 minutes or until the cabbage is tender to your liking.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.

Notes

Serve hot over mashed potatoes, with crusty bread, or topped with a fried egg. Leftovers can be refrigerated for 3-4 days or frozen for later use.
