Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, diced onions, milk-soaked bread or breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish.
Sauce Preparation
- In a separate bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, optional hot sauce, and optional apple cider vinegar. Mix well.
- Let the sauce chill for 10 minutes before using.
Cooking
- Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for about 50-60 minutes.
- About halfway through, pour the prepared sauce over the top of the meatloaf.
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for a few minutes after baking before slicing.
Notes
For different variations, feel free to use turkey instead of beef, or add in chopped spinach and shredded carrots for extra nutrition. Leftovers are great in sandwiches!
